Recreational Trips to
Points of Interest in '-
Bay Area Prove Popular
Proving extremely popular with
ambulatory patients at the Treas-
ure Island H ospital are the recre-
ational trips planned and ar-
ranged through the American
Red Cross.
Through this program, a great
number of patients have been in-
vited as guests of San Francisco
and East Bay organizations. This
gives the men an opportunity to
visit the Bay Area and make new
acquaintances.
The weekly tour of San Fran-
cisco is always well attended. Pa-
tients making this trip view the
wonders of Chinatown, C o i t
Tower, Fisherman's Wharf, the
Yacht Harbor and other historic
points of interest.
The St. Francis Yacht Club and
the Towne House reserves a table
each week for patients- and
everything is on the house.
Hospitalized sailors and marines
from T. I. are invited for
luncheons by many service or-
ganizations, amorig others, the
San Francisco Shriners and the
Berkeley Lions Club.
Other activities sponsored by
the Red Cross for the patients
here include ice skating, picnics,
ward shows and the semi-monthly
dances.

ational program, which was be-
