Hostess House for Enlisted Personnel
To be Officially Opened at 1500
On Monday, October 16th, 1944, Commodore R. W. Cary,
USN, Commander U. S. Naval Training and Distribution
Center, will officially open the doors of the Hostess House
on Treasure Island for the enlisted personnel under his com-
mand.
In a brochure put out for the Hostess House, Commo-
dore R. W. Cary said, "Undoubtedly the greatest single
sacrifice made by our service men and women is the severance
·of home and family ties. Any program or service that fills
the gap caused by the absence of home influence is an im-
portant factor in maintaining morale.
