Lt. Commander Wyckoff is a
graduate of the Naval Mine War-
fare School at Yorktown, Va., and
the Fleet Sound Schools at Key
West, Fla., and San Diego, Calif.
He has had command of each of
the three types of U. S. Navy mine-
sweepers, AMS,, YMS, and AM. Lt.
Commander Wyckoff's last tour of
sea duty was from Ju~y of 1943.

much of his time in the Central Pa-
cific area, participated inthe Saipan
and Kwajalein invasions. Lt. Com-
mander Wyckoff is a University of
Washington graduate and has had
approximately fourteen years of
service in the Naval Reserve. Dur-
ing peace time, he was active in
the reserve activities in Seattle. He
wears the Naval
for his peace-time performance of
duty.
Leaving his civilian capacity as
Director of Finance and Statistics,
Federal Security Agency, for the
State of Washington, in the fall of
1940, in response to the call to ac-
tive duty, Commander Wyckoff was
sent to sea almost immediately.
Since that time he _has seen much
of the high .seas. As commanding
officer of a YMS, his winter of 1942
was spent in the Aleutian Island
area.
The Mine Force personnel are all
exremely pleased that such a cap-
able and proven sea-faring of-
ficer has been assigned as Com-
mander Mine Force, and we
happy to welcome him aboard.
